Abstract

This article analyzes the representations of the Waterloo battlefield by Dorothy, Mary and Dora Wordsworth in 1820 and 1828 as literary war tourism, as well as the way in which this intertextual network of travel texts allowed the female authors to inscribe themselves in the literary tradition of British glorification after Napoleon’s defeat through themes such as mass tourism and the consumption of relics.
